The sketch is perfect for my Project Life album.....
Week 17 - Easter!

The layout is somewhat reversed to the sketch.
I really like adding a 12x12 sleeve every now and then to my PL album, just for a change.

Creative Scrappers (Birthday Sketch)

has celebrated a birthday, so with that there are a heap of fabulous sketches to choose from to take part!
I've used izink (LOVE this stuff) and painted lines with it mixed with water to create the background
and had to add my pinwheel sequins (grin)

Out of all the sketches on offer, this one caught my eye immediately!

Off the Rails - Chipboard Challenge

Off the Rails Challenge  is to use chipboard...

I created a 'window' like scene for Paige's mid-year dinner (a much more informal 'ball' than the end of year one) and she LOVES them.  So the use of gold chipboard hearts were definitely going to be glued down here!  Why the big window?  Weeeeell, where they have these mid year dinners has huge windows - so wanted to kinda replicate them.  It was dark outside by the time they arrived, but was all lit up in colour.  The background is a mixed media page made from gesso then pink and pale apricot paint, which I hand drew some hearts . And to finish off, glimmer mist 'slate' spray for drippage.  I've got one of those fabulous WRMK 3x4 card punches - and wow easy!  Cut four pieces out and arranged on black cardstock.

Let's Get Shabby Challenge #55

has some fabulous criteria to play with this month...
This can mean a variety of ideas and creativity.....
You can use the word  ‘Double’, or  it can be in the title as a shadow, or  two identical photos (say a black and white and a colour of the same photo) or twins, or in your design, or two matching embellishments, or a double page LO  ……  so long as we see ‘double’!
Let us know what it is you’ve done- make it obvious!
I've used double stamped birds, doubled the title, two little cut out photos of our pet sparrow 'Chirp'
and two little branches either side of the top of the main photo....
Chirp LOVES Paige and makes a bee-line to her the minute she enters the room.

Hope you can join our challenge

Paperdvizhnik Sketch #42

is 'minimalist' so it has much scope to play with design.
This lovely Green Leaf Insect, crawled out of my freshly brought in washing from the line,  then sprung onto a thicker alpha on my table.  I grabbed the camera.....
The two little photos spot on the sketch inspired double vellum stitched pockets to fit a couple of tags underneath with journaling of the story of our visiting bug (with a broken antennae).
It was such so inquisitive -  it came so close to the lens like it was trying to look 'in' and next second, climbed on the camera lens and up over the top - with me catching a pic of its tail on its upward scaling!  Soon it was eye to eye with me - time to put down camera before my face became the next climbing event!
And the colour splotches on the sketch became gelato drawn flowers for my friendly green leaf bug.
lots of stamping in leaves, print and brickwork.... plus sentiments
This sketch was perfect!

Creative Scrappers #268 and Sugar and Spice Crafty Challenge #5

I'm well and truly home from Scrappy Camp and back at work....
It was so great to break from reality!
Here are a couple of LO's finished while away...
Loved this sketch and it was different to what I've done before.
Stamped and Dimensional Magic-ed the butterflies in the little circles with a slathering of gesso underneath.
Using a mix of patterns.
I thought this would be tough on me and moving out of my comfort circle as I'm not reeeeeally a pattern paper scrapper, only because I never seem to know what to do with it....weeeeeell, rarely.
So this was a chance to have a go, and managed with no trouble using a Tim Holtz die!  I'm totally smitten with this die - and all the pattern papers worked though it did take some time inking, gluing and placing each piece!   I thoroughly enjoyed this!

Piaskownica Challenges and PL for Amiche di scrap

I've been busy at Scrappy Camp....
so am uploading these little projects....
Firstly Piaskownica has a couple of challenges for my Quote Book I've been making for Hannah....
Its a little vintage German book (1911),
The first challenge is to use a book in some way...perfect!
Hannah is away studying Library Services... so thought to put a page together relative to that.

Sketched a makeshift template of a girl onto a piece of paper and cut it out,...put it on the page (same for the alpha) and painted blue over it..... pulled off the template and some of the alpha (plus wiped lightly over the remaining alpha to bring back the colour) to reveal the book print underneath....

Outlined in pen and used colourful washi tape as collars, belt, shoes and hair.
Love this colour combo, and thought while I was at it, to do another page in Hannah's book..
This time, I thought I'd go for a 'family' quote and this gorgeous quote by the children's movie
'Lilo and Stitch'  was a great fit .... What appeals is the word 'Ohana' - it does sound a bit like 'Oh Hannah' - how cute!   Plus it means 'family'.   Maybe inspiration also come from the colour picture in Piaskownica's example above??
Use a photo in multiple pockets....
Another week page done for Project Life...
Week 12
A week of dress rehearsal in the theatre

One photo in multiple pockets
All done for now...
will run off and scrap some more.....
(big grin)!

Counterfeit Kits NSD - Create a Rainbow...

NSD challenges have come to an end for Counterfeit Kits Challenge Blog, and its been great being creative with colour.   I 'almost' got them all done, just ran out of time and the deadline has arrived.
Here's my 'Rainbow' challenge LO.....(set by LesleyG)

The stripes were created with a paintbrush dipped in these bottles of spray (except the Izink which a droplet was mixed with water to thin it).....then painted on the white cardstock and trimmed with 'filmstrip' washi tape

(Ha LizzyH, I'm sure you are on pinwheel sequin overload here!!!)
Having a wonderful time at scrappy night down and two to go!
Lots of deliberation, laughter and too much food!
(big smile)

Off the Rails Scrapbooking, and Counterfeit Kit NSD Challenge

Stripes and Polka Dots.....
 ' Colour Embellishment Challenge'
Leslie set the challenge to get the embellishments to pop the page....

I think my camera is 'broke' - doesn't matter what I do with it, its just failing... probably time for a new one, and its been overworked.... sigh.... please excuse it.....
Anyway, on a good note.... I'm off to scrappy camp tomorrow night after work for 3 nights :)
So, I'm going to get off this computer and pack my stash all ready to go
Hopefully my internet will work there and I can upload a few challenges I've got my eye on
(very big grin!)
